dairy free chocolate mousse

If you read this post, you’ll know that A) I seem to be emerging from my blogging hiatus and that B) At the end of 2015 I was asked by the hugely inspirational British Military Fitness to feature in their first ever recipe book!

It was an honour to even be noticed by BMF, let alone asked to come up with a recipe to motivate their thousands of advocates. BMF is everything you wished secondary school P.E could be like before it permanently destroyed your motivation for fitness with saggy sports bras and women who hate you. (All-girls school anyone?) It’s outdoor exercise with real military-trained professionals who provide all the motivation you can handle. I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t hold a eight-year grudge for finding you hiding out in the Lost Property cupboard either. Just sayin’.

Readers of this blog can download the whole beautiful book for free by clicking here. You will have instant access to loads of wonderful healthy recipes to inspire your fitness goals for 2016, including mine for Raw (Dairy-Free) Chocolate Mousse. Enjoy!

You’ll need:

2 small avocados

2 bananas

50g raw cacao powder

50g coconut oil

4 tbsp fresh orange juice

2 tbsp almond milk

1 tbsp almond butter

1 tsp vanilla extract

zest or one orange

pinch salt

All you have to do is:

Mix all the ingredients, apart from the orange zest in a high-speed blender until smooth. Grate the orange zest and fold through the chocolate mixture, keeping some back for decoration. Spoon the mixture into four ramekins or glass dishes and place in the fridge to set for an hour. Once firm, sprinkle with the remaining orange zest and serve immediately.
